French Open ‘last hope’ Jang Su-soo to win first round qualifier?
Jang Soo-jung will face Hungary’s Léka Lukács Yani at the French Open at Roland Garros in Paris, France, at 6:20 p.m. on Sept. 23.
With Kwon Soon-woo’s injury, there 먹튀검증 were three Taegeuk warriors in the qualifiers, but Han Na-rae and Hong Sung-chan were each knocked out in the first round, leaving Jang Soo-jung as the sole remaining player.
Jang’s last match was on April 18 at the WTA 125K Paris, an ATP Challenger event for men’s singles, where she faced WTA No. 59 Alize Cornet in the round of 16 and lost 2-0 (1-6, 5-7).
Her opponent, Reka Yani, is a 31-year-old Hungarian tennis player. Yani was once ranked 104th in the world, higher than Jang Soo-jeong (currently ranked 116th).
However, she is expected to struggle against Jang.
At the W25 Annenheim, an ITF Tennis Tour event, Yani reached the semifinals before falling 1-2 (6-2, 3-6, 5-7) to retired professional Laura Salden.
Considering Salden’s 0-2 loss (3-6, 1-6) to world No. 326 Sofia Kostoulas, Reka Yani’s form is somewhat ambiguous.
