Samsung Lions’ Kang Min-ho (37)안전놀이터 topped the KBO League catcher’s career home run list.

Kang Min-ho started as the fourth batter catcher in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League home game against KT Wiz at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 22nd and hit a solo shot from his first at-bat.

Kang Min-ho, who took the lead in the bottom of the second inning with 0-0, hit a high fastball by KT starter Um Sang-baek and crossed the left fence. It is Kang Min-ho’s 12th home run of the season and his 315th career home run.

As a result, Kang Min-ho beat LG Twins coach Park Kyung-wan (314), ranking first in the KBO League catcher’s career with the most home runs.

Kang Min-ho, who entered the professional league through the Lotte Giants in 2004, drew his first arch in his debut against the Hyundai Unicorns on April 28, 2005. After hitting double-digit home runs for 14 consecutive seasons since 2010, he broke the KBO League catcher’s record for the most home runs.

Kang Min-ho’s personal season record was 35 home runs set in 2015, ranking fourth in the category at the time.
